The first of the 2 Study Tours being held in Italy after the Chinese plenary session involving 485 trainees, has just started. The course addresses mainly the topics of environmental policy in Italy, sustainable mobility, sustainable agriculture, and waste and waste water management.

The first edition of the course ''Sustainable Development for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region'' will open with a first session held at the Vodokanal in Saint Petersburg (Russia) from June 7 to 11. A second session will follow in July at the VIU on the island of San Servolo, Venice, Italy.

EU New Strategy for Green Vehicles
The EU Commission's Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry recently adopted a Communication that sets out a strategy to encourage the development of clean and energy efficient vehicles. Since transport accounts for about 25% of Europe's CO2 emissions, this kind of vehicles could represent a significant tool to reduce the sector's impact on the environment.
