After the fruitful Advanced Training Program on Air Quality Control held in June, this November the Beijing and Shanghai Municipal Environmental Protection Bureaus are jointly participating in the second session of the 2014 Advanced Training Program on Environmental Management and Sustainable Development. The course will take place from November 16 to 26 and will be devoted to the theme of Industrial Pollution Control.

A delegation of 41 participants selected by the two Municipal Environmental Protection Bureaus will spend ten days in Rome, Venice and Turin. The course is a mix of lecturing sessions focusing on several topics, such as environmental permits and controls, air quality control at local level, technological solutions, energy innovation of enterprises, air pollution control in industry.

The presentation of examples and concrete cases will hopefully raise a fruitful exchange of experiences during the in-class lectures, while site visits to industries and power plants will be organized for the participants to directly experience the main topics of the course. In particular, new technological solutions and air control innovations in the enterprises will be presented during the site visits to Italcementi, Acegas, ICI Caldaie, ENEL power plant, and ARPAV.
