Copenhagen Bike Sharing Goes Hi-tech
23 September 2013

copenhagenbikesWhile new bike sharing systems keep spreading in cities around the world, Copenhagen is ready to make a step forward integrating built-in information technology to offer an even more efficient mobility system.
This new service, called Cykel DK, will be offered by the cities of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg in cooperation with DSB (Denmark's national railway system).
Thanks to the involvement of DSB, customers can take advantage of the bike and train system in an integrated way. While other cities have already set up services incorporating railways into their system, Copenhagen's bikes are also provided with a GPS-enabled tablet that will allow riders to check real time information on train departures, tickets integration, available bikes or docking stations in the nearby area.

The bikes available as a start will be 1,260 in 65 stations. The service will be operating 24 hours a day all year long and customers can pay by just entering their credit card information.

Please check this website and Cykel DK for more information
