Key Elements for Success on CC Mitigation at COP21
18 March 2015

agreementNext December the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP-21) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change will convene in Paris to adopt a global agreement on climate change. The expectations for this event are very high, since COP21 is considered to be the last chance to adopt a global agreement that makes it possible to secure a safe climate.

To prepare to the meeting, the Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has prepared a brief paper outlining key recommendations for how this agreement can become consistent with keeping the rise in global temperatures to less than 2°C – the internationally agreed target on climate change.

Launched by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in August 2012, the SDSN mobilizes scientific and technical expertise from academia, civil society, and the private sector in support of sustainable development problem solving at local, national, and global scales. The SDSN works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society.

The publication is available for download on the SDSN website
