RepowermapHave you installed a renewable energy system or a high energy efficiency building and want to share your experience with others? Now you can make your successful project visible to other web surfers. Repowermap, a free access map, is available online to create a network of fruitful examples and good case studies about renewables and energy efficiency.

As reported on the official website, this is "an initiative to promote renewable energies and energy efficiency by creating synergies in awareness raising between various energy actors and by facilitating information exchange for the related technologies."

Realized in 2008 within the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe Project, the map currently collects 1200 Italian plants with the following division among the sectors: 57% photovoltaic, 25% hydroelectric, 8% solar, 4,5% geothermic, 3% wind energy, 1,5% energy efficient buildings, 1% biomass. Other European countries are involved in the initiative, e.g. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Slovakia, and Poland. Besides, since 2011 Repowermap has involved also developing countries with the goal of facilitating know-how exchange and contributing to capacity building, in particular in Central America.

This is a no profit initiative and any national, regional or local organizations, authorities, institutions, and companies interested in renewable energies and energy efficiency issue is welcome to be part of the network. The initiative has gathered 15,395 project examples so far and aims to reach the symbolic goal of 40,000.
