On June 4 in Paris, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) will launch its new Youth division, SDSN Youth (SDSN-Y). SDSN-Y is a new initiative to engage youth globally in the post-2015 agenda to create sustainable development solutions, and its launch will serve as a timely occasion to reflect on the role of youth in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through education and global cooperation, SDSN-Y will encourage young people to prioritize the SDGs, while creating a global platform to advocate for change and formulate solutions and pathways for achieving the SDGs, with assistance and mentorship from experts and policymakers. Its main focus will be on empowering youth and supporting its active participation in the transition from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to the SDGs, but also helping young people worldwide initiate and scale projects that may help sustainable development problem solving at local, national, and global scales.

Youth groups and individuals are invited to join SDSN-Y following the formal launch event via membership, internships, workshops, and youth-led projects.

The launch event will take place in Paris at Columbia Global Centers | Europe. The event is free and open to the public, though RSVP is required at sdsn-y.eventbrite.com.
