| Tongji University Workshop Held at VIU |

The joint workshop "Sino-Italian Comparative Studies on Sustainable Development: Water, Waste and Green Cities" was held at Venice International University on December 1-2, 2008. The event was jointly organised by VIU and Tongji University of Shanghai with the aim of celebrating the first three years of their fruitful cooperation. The workshop was attended by selected professors of Tongji University, Ca' Foscari University of Venice and other Italian Universities, and by representatives of the Italian National Research Council. During the two days of activities various Italian and Chinese experiences in waste and water pollution, air quality assessment and sustainable urban development were explored, highlighting common research issues and possible areas of cooperation. The workshop has thus established the bases for future research collaborations between Italy and China." |
