The biggest annual conference on European environment policy, organised by the Directorate-General Environment of the European Commission, will be held from June 23 to 26 in Brussels, Belgium. Green Week is a unique opportunity to exchange experience and good practice on main environmental issues, and some 3,500 participants are expected from EU institutions, business and industry, non-governmental organisations, public authorities, academia and the scientific community. This year’s edition will be especially focusing on the multi-faceted challenges of climate change, which high-level speakers from Europe and beyond will address during the three days of discussion and debate. The 2009 conference is structured on four themes with eight sessions each: “EU climate policiesâ€, “the international dimensionâ€, “living with climate change†and “2050 Vision: a carbon-free societyâ€.
