Seminar Series for Black Sea Countries
21 October 2009
VIU, Venice, Italy. October 25 - November 1, 2009 At the end of September the 40 participants of the 2009 edition of the ''Seminar Series: Partnerships for Sustainable Development Sustainable Public Policies and Business Practices for Black Sea Countries'' were asked to define their commitments in the short, medium and long term in order to translate the acquired knowledge and the concept of sustainable development into practice.

This task, assigned at the end of the Istanbul session, was the introductory work for the upcoming part of this year's Seminar Series, which will be held at VIU on San Servolo Island from October 25 - November 1. The Venetian session will thus continue the work begun in Istanbul last September, with the aim of helping participants network and start new relationships for future cooperation both with other organizations coming from their own country and with colleagues from other States.

Several themes such as environmental security, climate change, water management, sustainable tourism and economic aspects of SD will be key issues of the discussions, workshops and simulations featured in this part of the training.
High-profile experts, professors and researchers from all over Europe will share and foster their knowledge of SD by presenting successful case studies of local actions, from which the principles to implement a global sustainable development can be derived."
