Globalization Program

Academic year 2009-2010 The VIU Globalization Program will successfully continue in the upcoming Fall Semester (Sept.7 - Dec.18) with a set of advanced courses, research workshops and seminars on the theme of globalization and its economic, social, cultural and environmental impacts. Scholarships for studying abroad will be awarded to the best Italian students.

The Fall Semester will offer in particular a course on “Regions and Cities in the Global Economy” and one on “Representing Global Cities: Venice, London, Mumbai”, besides several complementary courses.

The Globalization Program is open to VIU students and is designed as to encourage the participations of Ca’ Foscari and IUAV students, especially as the studying abroad experience for carrying out theses and research works on globalization/sustainability/economics is concerned. China and USA are among the targeted countries for the VIU visiting students.
Starting from the Spring 2010 Semester, the courses will be devoted not only to VIU students but also to distinguished students from other universities.

On Sept 14, on the occasion of the Freshman’s Fair that officially opens the Semester at VIU, the Program and Academic activities for the Spring Semester 2010 will be announced. The Globalization Spring Semester will feature a course on “International management: Managing Global Value Chains” and one on “Globalization, Environment and Sustainable Development”, together with complementary courses on business management and history, and social and political issues related to globalization.
