First International Conference on Small Business Industrial Clusters in China and Italy

Chieti and Pescara, Italy. May 28-29, 2010 The role of small and medium enterprises in the broad framework of sustainable development is the central topic to be discussed during the First International Conference on Small Business Industrial Clusters in China and Italy (Experiences and Lessons for Developing and Advanced Economies), that will take place on May 28-29 in Chieti and Pescara, Italy.
The conference is organised by the Faculty of Economics of the Gabriele D'Annunzio University and Fondazione Gabriele D'Annunzio, and sponsored by institutions such as the Italian Ministry of Universities, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the Centre d'études français sur la Chine contemporaine (CEFC).

Several topics are scheduled in the agenda of the two days session, with a special focus on the Chinese and Italian experiences. Among others, the conference will address the evolution of clusters and industrialization, industrial clusters, industrial ecology and environmentally sustainable development, policy implications for economic development, the role of local government and business associations.
