22 February 2010
VIU, Venice, Italy. February 25, 2010 The crucial role globalization plays in the world today at all levels, from policy-making to everyday life, has been making it the central issue of VIU programs and activities for the last two years. In 2009 the Globalization Program was launched within the VIU School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), to study the issues of economics, environment, ethics and development in globalized world, building on the research work carried out by the TEN Center on the related environmental and sustainability issues and the TeDIS Center on innovation and competitiveness in the global economy.

In this framework, a one-day event on globalization, economics and sustainability will be opening the Spring 2010 and Globalization Program Semesters at VIU on February 25, 2010 starting from 10.30 am.
Salvatore Rossi, Director of the Economics, Research and International Relations Department of the Bank of Italy and Enzo Rullani, President of the TeDIS Center of the VIU, will have a 'A Dialogue on Globalisation: Scenarios for Italy beyond the Crisis'. On this occasion Enzo Rullani and Salvatore Rossi will present their recently published books: "Modernità sostenibile. Idee, filiere e servizi per uscire dalla crisi" and "Controtempo.
