Dr. Corrado Clini at the VIU for Lezioni d'Europa

Venice, Italy. February 8, 2010 On February 8, Dr. Corrado Clini, Director General of the Italian Ministry for the Environment Land and Sea, will be at the Venice International University on San Servolo Island in the framework of the Lezioni d’Europa series. Mr. Clini will lecture on “Climate Change”, addressing the current EU strategy for the development of a low carbon economy based on energy efficiency, and the relevant actions set so far: diversification of the energy sources, development of efficient technologies and emission reduction of at least 20%.

The lecture is the fourth of the Lezioni d’Europa conferences, which are designed to present the role and activities of the European Union to the general public, especially young generations, in order to help them develop their sense of belonging to the EU and become aware of their responsibility as EU citizens.
All lectures can be followed online on the dedicated website, where participants can also submit questions and discussion topics to be forwarded to the speakers and addressed during the debate.

The fifth lecture will be given in Milan on February 12 by Paola Testori Coggi, Director General of the European Commission for Health and Consumers’ issues, and will be focussed on “Health and Food Safety”.
