Coming Up Next at VIU Other 4 Advanced Training Courses organised by the Venice International University and its Chinese partners in the framework of the Sino-Italian Cooperation Program for Environmental Protection are scheduled in June, besides the VIU-CASS E-Learning Study Tour currently being held in Italy.

In cooperation with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the VIU planned a course on “Capacity Building on Climate Change”, to be held in Italy from June 5 to 19. The agenda aims at giving an overview on the causes and issues connected to climate change, and the possible solutions to be adopted.

A course organised with the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau (BMEPB) will follow from June 12 to 26. The main focus will be on emission trading and low carbon initiatives such as energy efficiency and eco-building, featuring several site visit, for example to SAVNO s.r.l. as a case of eco-building in the Province of Treviso.

The second 2010 course organised by the VIU in collaboration with the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) on “Environmental Monitoring Management” will then be held from June 19 to July 3. Among other issues, the guidelines for establishing monitoring networks will be discussed, and special attention will be devoted to air pollution monitoring.

A delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China will then be in Italy at the end of June for a course on “New and Renewable Energy” (June 26 - July 10). The training activities will aim to analyse all different kinds of renewable energy, like solar, wind and geothermal energy."
