Real Time Pollution Maps
02 November 2010
Intamap (Interoperability and automated mapping) is a project developed and financed within the Sixth Framework Programme of the European Union, whose main aim is the promotion of research and technological development.
During the past three years (2006-2009) a team of researchers from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom has developed an open-source software that creates real time maps of air, water and soil pollution.
The software statistically elaborates data measured in specific points and gives, as a result, contour lines that show where the pollution originated, the current position and possible expansion. According to the time needed for the map elaboration (more data means more time) and how accurate this should be, the software is able to control which interpolation techniques to use.

Please check the project official website for more information."
