A survey by Valentina De Marchi (IRES Researcher)
The Institute for Economic and Social Research in the Veneto Region (IRES) is organizing a conference on “Work and sustainability in the north-east of Italy†where a survey carried out by Valentina De Marchi on the wooden furniture industrial sector will be presented. Valentina De Marchi analyses the impact caused by the adoption of environmental sustainability strategies on the work organization in a firm. The researcher studied 7 firms (located in the north-eastern part of Italy) which have successfully implemented environmental sustainability actions. The results show that the implementation of the strategies are positive and improve the firms efficiency and productivity, and their position on the market. Thus, the competitiveness of those firms is positively affected by the environmentally-friendly strategies. The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the adoption of an economic model at a low environmental impact for the wooden furniture sector. The conference will be held in Treviso, on the 5th of November." |
