Coming Up Next at VIU The November 2010 schedule of the Advanced Training Program is full of events.

After the session held in October in Beijing, from November 6 to December 4, Venice International University (VIU) has invited two delegations selected by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to Italy.
The first delegation will be in Italy from November 6 to 20. The delegation is composed of 42 participants who will attend a training program on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
The second delegation, also composed of 42 participants, will follow a training course on Sustainable Urban Development and Eco-building. Besides lectures on energy efficiency certification in buildings the delegation will have the chance to visit cases of eco-building. These participants will be in Italy from November 20 to December 4, 2010.

The Regional Environmental Center in collaboration with Venice International University has organized an Advanced Course on Local Sustainability and Action that will be held in Italy and in Hungary from November 7 to 17. The Seminar is addressed to civil servants of Central and Eastern European countries, or more specifically, the participants will come from Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia.
All of the participants will attend the first part of the course on the Island of San Servolo in Venice (from November 7 to 13) and from November 13 to 17 they will continue the training program, in Szentendre, Hungary.

The Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau (SEPB) in collaboration with Venice International University has organized a training course on Low Carbon Economy that will be held in Italy from November 13 to 27, 2010. The delegation is composed of 21 participants.
The over-concentration of greenhouse gases produces global warming affecting long-term climate, with negative impacts on humanity in the foreseeable future. The course aims to underline the necessity to become zero-carbon societies and economies, by reducing the use of fossil sources while increasing energy efficiency and employing renewable energy.

At the end of November 2010, the fifth and last delegation selected by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP) for the current year will be in Italy. The last course with MEP scheduled for 2010 will be held from November 27-December 11, is on “Environmental Monitoring Management”. 25 participants have been selected to attend the training course."
