The first delegation of year 2009 from the Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau is arriving in Italy on May 23 to attend a training course on “Environmental Friendly Citiesâ€, held in the framework of the SICP program. VIU and the Municipality of Shanghai decided to dedicate to this topic two training courses in 2009, thus demonstrating the willingness of Chinese policy makers to face the serious pollution problems of Shanghai. Shanghai deals in fact with the same environmental problems as all big cities worldwide, in particular those coming from traffic congestion and air pollution, and water and waste management. In Italy, the participants will be presented with the Italian perspective on these crucial issues and will have the chance to meet the Italian experience in managing such problems in an environmental friendly way." |
