Objectives
The overall objective of this lecture is to provide participating experts a description of the methodologies to estimate emissions of atmospheric pollutants and greenhouse gases and to describe the EMEP/EEA Guidebook contents.

Outline
The presentation include some general information regarding the emission inventories as the objectives, the international framework, the main requirements, the different methodologies and the main reporting issues and how the Guidebook allow the user to choose the appropriate methodology to estimate emissions.
Information on the structure of the Guidebook and on the classification of the emitting activities is also reported as well as the main results for the Italian inventory.
