Corrente in Movimento – Promoting Sustainable Energy Use
cimCorrente in Movimento is a new innovative approach to promote sustainability in Italy. The project was thought up at the end of last year and is supported by important institutions such as the CNR (National Research Council), IMELS (Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea) and ENEA (National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment) together with the EU with the SEE (Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign).

Nicknamed the Giro d'Italia Elettrico (Electric Italy tour), the project consists of 60 stops in as many cities. An electric car is used to travel from city to city, where conferences and meetings on renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility are organized.

Best practices developed in each city are presented in the framework of the Covenant of Mayors. It is a voluntary European movement involving local authorities with the common goal of more than 20% reduction of their greenhouse gas emissions by means of specific programmes on energy savings and rational use of energy.

The tour started in Rome on May 8th and returned to the capital city for the final stop on June 21st.

Please check the project's website (only in Italian) to take a look at all the events organized as well as the best practices promoted.
