Green Economy: an Italian National Council is established
15 February 2013

green_economySGA National Council for Green Economy is established in Italy to continue and put into practice the 70 proposals for a green development that came out from the "General Assembly of the Green Economy" (Stati generali della Green Economy)" held last November at the Ecomondo International Fair in Rimini.

The National Council is constituted by 53 consortiums and organizations representing those companies which are most committed to the achievements of a green development. The Council aims also to promote a constant dialogue between the entrepreneurial and governmental worlds, in particular with the Italian Ministries of Environment and Economic Development.

The 70 proposals are a roadmap to fight the economic and environmental crisis and are expected to generate actions in several fields such as eco-innovation, efficiency in the use of energy and materials, recycling and reuse of materials, energy saving and renewable energies, ecosystem conservation and valorisation, agricultural development, sustainable mobility.

A second edition of the General Assembly, coordinated by the newly-established National Council, will be held in November 2013.
