New Database of Industrial BAT in the Mediterranean Region

industryA database containing a collection of the Best Available Techniques (BAT) adopted in the Industrial Areas of the Mediterranean Region, in terms of environmental, social and economic solutions, is now online.

In particular, it contains information such as: the territorial scenario of the area, managing bodies, the number of involved municipalities, the number of established companies and employees, together with the EMAS or ISO14001 certification and the related BAT. The description of the best practices (BAT) can be downloaded and an essential bibliography about best practices on Industrial Areas called "Document Repository" is also available.

The database is one of the results of the M.E.I.D. - Mediterranean Eco Industrial Development project funded by the Med Programme and the European Regional Development Fund. M.E.I.D. aims to develop a model to plan, build and govern sustainable industrial areas in the Mediterranean regions with particular attention placed on SMEs.
