Producing Bus Fuel from Food Waste |
20 March 2012 |
In Oslo, Norway, more public transport buses will soon run on green fuel, thanks to a new plant able to process food waste and produce biogas and agricultural fertilizers. The new plant, that is being constructed by the Norwegian company Cambi AS, will employ a method known as thermal hydrolysis, where raw materials such as food waste or sewage sludge are boiled under high temperatures and pressure, thus yielding substantially more biogas compared to conventional facilities.
