| RINNOVA: the G.S.E. S.p.A. Informative Hub on Renewable Energy |

 Information and the raising of awareness are important tools to reach the EU's 20-20-20 goals: 20% increase in energy efficiency, 20% reduction of CO2 emissions, and 20% of energy consumption coming from renewable sources by 2020.
For this reason, the EU Legislative Decree no.28 of 2011/3/3 assigned the task of creating a web portal devoted entirely to renewable energies to G.S.E. S.p.A., the authority which promotes and supports renewable energy use and energy efficiency in Italy. As a result, on the 21st of October 2011 G.S.E. S.p.A. launched RINNOVA, with the aim to explain the different sources, production systems and plants behind clean energy for each sector of application (transport, building etc.). On the web-portal it is also possible to look up SIMERI, which is the Italian system for the statistical monitoring of renewable energy use. SIMERI also keeps the user updated concerning the status of the 2020 goals achievement, in particular concerning the amount of energy consumption from renewable sources.
