The Training Courses organized within the Advanced Training Program are tailored according to the needs and requests of the Chinese partners in order to deal with the foremost Chinese environmental concerns and challenges.

The Program provides the participants with relevant examples of the complexity of issues concerning Sustainable Development which involves not only environmental aspects but also economic, legal, social and institutional elements.

The topics of the courses widen from more general issues to new, tailored priorities, to respond to China national environmental concern and its interest in the global scenario of sustainability.

The courses are held in Italy, where delegations spend two weeks attending lectures and site visits in Rome, Siena, Venice and Turin. Introductory sessions are organized in China in collaboration with CASS, MOST, SEPB and TSTC. The Program also includes a distance-learning session broadcasting live from Italy and Beijing, reaching most provinces of China.

Since 2003, more than 190 trainings have been organized. Each year, the Program arranges about 30 training sessions in Italy and 6 in China.
