Venice International University and the International Waste Working Group (IWWG) promote the Sustainable Landfilling and Final Sink international Summer School, to be held at Venice International University on the Island of San Servolo in Venice, Italy, July 11-20, 2014.

The aim is to offer students an overview of the most recent and advanced technologies developed for the management of sustainable landfills. Participants will be able to analyze the management of an existing landfill during a full day site visit. By putting into practice what they learn during the class lectures, they will be asked to prepare and present a project or research hypothesis on how to improve the management of a landfill.

The Summer School is open to master students who have completed all of their required course work, PhD students and young researchers from any university and any discipline with an interest in waste management, able to read and write fluently in English. Applicants familiar with these subjects and already working in private companies or public administrations are welcome.
