First Course on Urban Mobility in Freiburg |
20 June 2012 |
Freiburg, a city of 220.000 inhabitants, is one of the best examples of urban sustainability in Europe and has reached excellent results in the field of sustainable urban mobility. Thanks to a careful planning Freiburg has cut 25% of private mobility and its public transport system has reached the 200.000 trips per day. Using the city as a laboratory, Aiforia, an international agency for sustainability based in Freiburg, has organized two courses on sustainable mobility, the first of which will take place in June, from 28 to 30, while the second session is planned from September 27 to 29. Italian Local Governments, policy makers, technicians and all stakeholders both from private and public sector are invited to join this event. During the course many key aspects will be actively discussed through site visits, brain storming and group work. Participants will meet local experts and discuss possible solutions and innovations to solve the problems linked to urban mobility. |
