GDPThe Water Supply & Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) launched a new campaign in June 2011: Good Dignity Practices for Gross Domestic Product (GDP for GDP).
This campaign is a global advocacy movement on safe water, sanitation and hygiene, focusing in particular on the economic benefits associated to investments in sanitation and human dignity.

The concern on this issue rises from the fact that, at present, one in three people lack access to a safe, hygienic toilet systems, which costs people their health, countries their GDP and the dignity of billions of people.
The "GDP for GDP" campaign aims to make governments at all levels act and invest in sanitation, whilst at the same time inspire small-scale entrepreneurs to create local businesses around sanitation and hygiene.
A series of messages and materials have been designed with the overall goal to promote the economic benefits of sanitation and to elevate the importance of sanitation as a global issue with benefits that can be shared among a wide range of sectors.
