Promoting Green Job Opportunities in Italy
28 June 2012

Clini1Italy is more and more committed towards green economy and earlier this month the Italian government has approved a set of laws, one of which is intended to increase green job opportunities for younger professionals.

The law on green jobs has been actively promoted by the Minister of the Environment, Mr. Corrado Clini, based on granting tax credits and advantageous loans to companies committed to permanently employ young people under 35 (of which, a 30% reserved to under 28).

Italian companies that can benefit of this measure are those active in the following sectors: territory protection and prevention of hydraulic and seismic risk; research and development on second and third generation biofuels; research, development and production of new technologies in the fields of solar photovoltaic, solar concentration and solar thermodynamic, and geothermal energy; energy efficiency improvement in the civil and tertiary sectors (including social housing).

This new law is expected to create nearly 60.000 new jobs. The costs connected with these new measures will be covered with 470 million Euros coming from the Kyoto revolving fund, which next year will be refinanced thanks to the auction sale of CO2 emission credits.
