Three SICP advanced training courses are going to be held in November here at the VIU, besides the 2011 Course for Sustainability dedicated to South Eastern Europe and Visegrad Countries which is currently undergoing on San Servolo (see news here).

Two of the Chinese delegations invited to Italy were selected by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) to open the activities for the 2011-2012 academic year. The first course will be dedicated to "Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy", with lectures and site visits aimed to discuss different renewable energy sources such as biomass, wind and geothermal systems, and theoretical topics such as energy efficiency and economics of Energy. The second course organized with the CASS will be devoted to "Sustainable Urban Development and Eco-building". The agenda is very rich and among others will feature many lectures and case-studies dedicated to energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and eco-communities.

The third delegation scheduled in the month of November will include 25 participants selected by the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection and will address the theme of "Environmental Protection Supervision and Inspection". A special focus will be on the legal aspects implied and the role played by the public authorities involved, such as the Provincial Government of Venice and the Regional Agencies for Environmental Prevention and Protection.
