The lecture’s goal is to introduce the Life Cycle Thinking concept and to provide a general brief overview about the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, as an instrument for companies to assess their product’s impact on the environment.
Starting from the state of art of LCA methodology around the world, the lecture will deal mainly with general technical information about LCA structure, its scientific background and its International Standards references. Possible ways to communicate product’s environmental performance and LCA analysis results to stakeholders and consumers, will be analyzed too.
The final part of the lecture will focus on LCA applications in the field of companies sustainable management and green economy, by discussing some case studies.
