The lecture is aimed to provide an overview of requirements and methodologies to be use in the framework of United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and related Kyoto Protocol. In this context, each Party to the Convention and the Kyoto Protocol is committed to develop, publish and regularly update national emission inventories of greenhouse gases (GHGs) as well as formulate and implement programmes to reduce these emissions. A focus will be carried out on the national statistical system and the main statistics used in the inventory compilation.
