SMAT manages some of the largest and most advanced water mains, drinking water and wastewater treatment plants in Europe. It was the first utility company to use surface water for the production of drinking water in Italy. SMAT offers reliable turnkey engineering solutions and has extensive experience in planning and overseeing construction, quality control and final inspection of water plants and networks. SMAT is the official supplier of flight water for the ISS - International Space Station; a load of space water produced by SMAT Water Preparation Facility has recently been delivered to the station by an Ariane 5 vector, launched from the Kourou base in Guyane.
