Duke-VIU International Summer Research Workshop 2009

The second edition of the Duke-VIU International Summer Research Workshop was held at Duke University, in Durham North Carolina, from July 5-10. During the workshop 21 participants and 8 faculty members from over 10 countries were involved in presentations, discussions and group works focused on global value chain and its economic, social and environmental upgrading.

The World’s Biggest Rooftop PV Plant
To Be Built in Padua, Italy
On July 24, 2009, the Italian logistic and transport company Interporto di Padova SpA announced to be about to build the world biggest solar plant on rooftop so far. The agreement between the Interporto and the constructing company has already been signed and the building operations will start in September 2009.
