The First Hydrogen Power Plant Become Operational at Porto Marghera (Venice)
On the 12th of July the World’s first hydrogen power plant was officially opened in the industrial area of Porto Marghera, near Venice.
The plant, built by Enel, will produce 16 megawatts of power, providing power for approximately 20,000 households thus saving 17,000 tons of CO2 emissions compared to a coal plant.

The wind farm will be located near the Lake Turkana over an area of 66,000 ha.

Transgreen: a Network to Transport Solar Energy From North Africa to Europe
North Africa is on its way to becoming one of the most significant exporters of solar energy.
On the 5th of July in Paris, 12 companies, under the leadership of French energy giant EDF, launched the first phase of TransGreen project, with the aim to build an underwater network of electrical cables to carry solar energy from North Africa to Europe.
